Rehoboth's Sanctuary

 Deu 8:1-3

Be careful to obey all the commands I am giving you today. Then you will live and multiply, and you will

enter and occupy the land the LORD swore to give your ancestors. Remember how the LORD your God led you through the wilderness for these forty years, humbling you and testing you to prove your character, and to find out whether or not you would obey his commands.Yes, he humbled you by letting you go hungry and then feeding you with manna, a food previously unknown to you and your ancestors. He did it to teach you that people do not live by bread alone; rather, we live by every word that comes from the mouth of the LORD.

 Deu 8:6-9

So obey the commands of the LORD your God by walking in his ways and fearing him. For the LORD your God is bringing you into a good land of flowing streams and pools of water, with fountains and springs that gush out in the valleys and hills. It is a land of wheat and barley; of grapevines, fig trees, and pomegranates; of olive oil and honey. It is a land where food is plentiful and nothing is lacking.

Deu 8:11-18

Beware that in your plenty you do not forget the LORD your God and disobey his commands, regulations, and decrees that I am giving you today. For when you have become full and prosperous and have built fine homes to live in, and when your flocks and herds have become large and your silver and gold have multiplied along with everything else, be careful! Do not become proud at that time and forget the LORD your God, who rescued you from slavery in the land of Egypt. Do not forget that he led you through the great and terrifying wilderness with its poisonous snakes and scorpions, where it was so hot and dry. He gave you water from the rock! He fed you with manna in the wilderness, a food unknown to your ancestors. He did this to humble you and test you for your own good. He did all this so you would never say, ‘I have achieved this wealth with my own strength and energy.’ Remember the LORD your God. He is the one who gives you power to be successful, in order to fulfill the covenant he confirmed to your ancestors with an oath.

WHAT - Premium Food

Spiritual Food (Internal Love)

At Sanctuary, we spend time together in God's word every morning in order to get the premium spiritual fuel needed for a day's work, growth and enjoyment.

  • We study our Bible, pray and meditate every morning utilizing Dr. Leaf's Brain Detox Program (see below)

  • We practice an "active reach" 7x throughout the day - identified by the Holy Spirit during our morning Brain Detox - consisting of Bible scripture.

  • We journal every evening before bed and reflect upon God's goodness that day; how He met our needs and answered our prayers

  • We attend Rehoboth Community Church every Sunday for inspiration and teaching, praise and worship, and fellowship with other believers

Material Food (External Love)

We prepare, consume, and give thanks for three healthy meals together throughout the day consisting of premium material food.

  • We prepare grass-fed meat and dairy products sourced from local farms in the Shenandoah Valley

  • We prepare fresh, whole, pesticide-free fruits and vegetables sourced from farms in the Valley

  • We season our meals with fresh herbs harvested from our culinary garden.

  • We avoid highly processed and preserved foods and consume only the most perishable foods. This practice helps us develop a taste for premium food and also helps us learn to trust that God will provide manna each and every day until we are firmly established in His grace.

These practices work to establish new beliefs and behaviors and develop a healthy relationship with our creator and the premium food He provides us each day - spiritually and materially. As we discover how much God loves us and the great plans he has for us, we realize how important it is to take excellent care of our mind, body and spirit each and every day. Essentially, we learn why we need to "eat what is good", what kind of food is best to eat, and how to prepare, give thanks for, and savor it each day.

WHAT - Naturally Healing Therapies

Agro-Therapy (Playing in the dirt)

MIND: Agro-Therapy (a fancy term for gardening) is all about developing a healthy relationship with the earth - our bodies. At Sanctuary, we spend time in God's word every morning in order to get the premium spiritual food we need for the day. Then we get our bodies into the sunshine, our hands in the soil (which has been proven as affective as Prozac in treating depression), and let God teach us how to cultivate our own food, herbs and art supplies.

BODY: As we learn how to cultivate a healthy garden in the eternal realm, we ask God to help us translate the lessons in order to grow a healthy internal garden. We learn to sew new healthy beliefs from God's word. At the same time, we learn how identify toxic thoughts, wait for a good rain/cry, and pull them just like weeds.

SPIRIT: Part of our curriculum includes Dr. Caroline Leaf's 21 Brain Detox Program, which is basically a Holy-Spirit led mind-gardening program. Dr. Leaf was a brain scientist for over 30 years and is now a full-time minister. Her program is incredibly effective at treating mental and physical health issues of all kinds including substance abuse and we're incredibly thankful for her life's work.

Art-Therapy (Designing Patterns)

Our monthly publication often features a Motion Scripture, which is a short, animated movie. These artistic renderings of scripture include encouraging commentary that increases knowledge, renews the mind and refreshes the spirit. Though short and sweet, they're powerful expressions of God's love.

MIND: Growing Up Again, Self Esteem

BODY: Dancing, kick-boxing, kayaking, bike-riding

SPIRIT: Art Therapy, harvest and make our own dyes out of things like walnuts, plant cellulose, and spinach berries, body casts,

Equine-Therapy (Caring for Horses)

Our monthly publication often features a Motion Scripture, which is a short, animated movie. These artistic renderings of scripture include encouraging commentary that increases knowledge, renews the mind and refreshes the spirit. Though short and sweet, they're powerful expressions of God's love.
